Last concert you attended

If you've never heard Shovels and Rope before here is a flavour of what I heard last night.This is one of their rockier numbers their sound is generally a mix of folk,rock,country,blues and gospel.On stage the duo (husband and wife btw) swap over instrument duties.They really impressed the Glasgow audience last night.They have a couple of dates left in England then it's back over to the States for a tour.Worth checking out if they are playing in your area.

Ha ha that's true.He'll need to do a cover of Can't Help Falling In Love since he's at the footie stadium and that's their song.
He's been quite good at that for a few years now playing at unusual football grounds giving cash strapped clubs a bit of a payout.He was the first to play at my teams ground The Falkirk Stadium and I believe he's played at Kilmarnock and Inverness as well.

edit.After a wee bit of research as it got me thinking in Scotland he's played Rangers which isn't unusual but also Aberdeen,Hibs, Kilmarnock,Inverness Caley,the mighty Falkirk and now Airdrie as well as a load of English football grounds.Of course as ex owner of Watford FC he will know how hard it is to get extra income in.

Yeah I thought he would have played the Hydro by now but it's a summer tour and he does like playing these unusual venues which will get a similar sized crowd but it makes it more of an event.I'm sure the good people of Airdie will make him welcome.!

Oh wow, love their latest album. I saw them live when they first started out, wish they would play at an arena in Holland but they're only playing festivals this summer

Yeah I like their latest album a lot. I think they are a real talented group and I'm kind of fed up of people saying they've "sold out" or that only their first two albums were any good. It's like artists aren't allowed to grow and change. I personally enjoy all their albums, especially Come Around Sundown, I think that's a pretty strong one.
The only small criticism I have is that I wish they would have engaged with the audience more at the concert, but as far as the music goes, which I was there to listen too, I can't fault them. I loved every minute. They played a pretty long set, but I was still left wanting more, so that can only be a good thing
They did a fantastic version of the song Walls.

You never know, they might add some more European dates. Will you try and see them at the Pinkpop festival?

Off to see American Aquarium in Edinburgh.This tour has been their first to the UK.No trains home tonight due to Engineering works and I don't do replacement buses if I can help it so it's overnight Hotel stay for me.
Bit worried that the Mrs' last words to me were "No prostitutes " !

Great gig in a nice little venue.Sound was superb and got a little meet and greet from front man BJ Barnham.

Just away to see Blackberry Smoke at the legendary Glasgow Barrowlands Ballroom.It's sold out should be a riot.Must be well over 10yrs since I was last there for a Motorhead gig.

Saw Snoop Dogg last Tuesday night, will be seeing George Clinton, The Beach Boys, Paul McCartney, Elton John, and I'm not sure who else this year. Maybe Boston w/ Blue Oyster Cult and whatever else comes around.
