Rock ´N´ Roll Stars (1956 magazine)
12-page Elvis article in this Rock ´N´ Roll Stars magazine, published in 1956. If nothing else, there are some rare photos from The Steve Allen Show.

There's more than that. The fool wrote:12-page Elvis article in this Rock ´N´ Roll Stars magazine, published in 1956. If nothing else, there are some rare photos from The Steve Allen Show.
These are always such a treat, and often informative. In this case, despite some of the "official" story being mishandled, it's great to learn the basset hound used on the 7-01-1956 Allen appearance "loved" Elvis. No wonder he (she?) got an on-camera kiss from Presley at the end.
And it's also fascinating to learn a large group of girls at one of the Mosque shows in Richmond on 6-30-1956 accepted Elvis' invitation to "join" the Jordanaires on stage during "I Was The One," almost causing a riot.
Note that all of the Steve Allen Show photos are from the dress rehearsal, not the broadcast. Also, there are no photos taken after July 2 (RCA NY session), meaning this magazine was likely published late July-early August.

The photo from "12" is from June 8, too.

Re: Rock ´N´ Roll Stars (1956 magazine)
This is very helpful as we now learn who took these backstage photos before the afternoon show. The fool wrote:One more page from the magazine, with Elvis on it.
The credit reads "Hamilton - Globe" which is most likely John R. Hamilton of the Globe Photo Agency. Globe Photos was known to be the best celebrity photo agency of the '50s.

The photos at the Shrine of Elvis on stage for the evening set (in the dark suit) were taken by Ernest E. Reshovsky.

Awesome!!! Thanks for the pics!
One thing that caughts my attention is Elvis comments of being afraid to wake up and that he hopes it lasts... A 20 years later, he probably was afraid of waking up for different reasons and one has to wonder if he really wished still that it would last. Sad...
