Thanks for resubmitting this post Simon.
I am not entirely sure if the thread doesn't belong in the picture section though.

addition: http://www.elvisowned.com/Page6.htm

And yes the first photo with Jeanne Lemay Dumas and EP is doctored.
It was actually taken in Atlanta by Linda Thompson in his suite on 6/30/73.

Not all of us are going to be able to "resubmit" so, yes, Jordan and Steve, take your time restoring the board's lost posts.

It's worth it! :D

And, thanks, I guess, for resubmitting that.... :?

Simon -

Thanks for that thoughtful action.

That 'red' bedroom wouldn't look out of place in a New Orleans cat-house !

Err...... I saw a pic of one once.

I find it hard to look at the bathroom. Naturally images run through your mind.

Thanks for re- posting though.

I wonder where he got the life-like blow up doll that is sitting on his bed?

Yeah, really. I don't know if it's the first thing I'd re-post, given how many people out there seem to always want to make fun of Elvis. Why give'em fuel?

If you have any of the lost LiketheBike or Rockin' Rebel or Peter Franks or DJC from posts laying around, please post them as well.

To each his own- but I think Elvis' taste in home decorating was just God awful!

Creepy photos. Like some sort of gawdy inner sanctum of bad vibes and gloomy isolation. I don't know how ANYONE could have stood to be there. Likely this was, unbeknownst to him, a big part of his problems.

If someone had truly cared about EP, seems to me the first thing they'd have done was tell him the truth about his (and Linda's) taste in home furnishings, point out the absurdity of the obvious in his life, and pull him back into reality - and maybe he'd have given Linda a boot right out to the curb early on, and then hired a stylish decorator who'd have opened up that mausoleum to reveal sunlight and optimism.

Doctored photos as well - classless upon classless.

Elvis' decorating taste

#173243

Post by Net »

But of course, he did have wonderful taste for the times. My own family's house, during that same period, had super stylish carpeting and lots of orange glass everywhere---but now to look at photos of it? Yuck! Same as those smokin' clothes I thought I was wearing in the 70's---lots of Quiana fabric such as what Linda is wearing on the bed there. Hideous(!), but beautiful at the time. Quiana was terribly hot, btw, really uncomfortable, but did I look great! You men looked great at the time too, with your patent leather white boots and wide belts, lol. Then again, Elvis still looks great in those loud shirts and white boots. 8)

The bathroom pic gives me chills.....but the rest of the pics make me wonder what the hell Elvis was thinking??
