Post by CountCanada »

The original album from MSG shows Elvis wearing the Pyramid jumpsuit...Can someone tell me which jumpsuit he actually wore during this performance?

Thanks
Steve

During the June 10th, 1972 evening show Elvis wore the 'Eyelet' suit with 'Lion Head Belt' The suit is also known as the 'Double Porthole' suit. That belt was not made for this suit but for the 'White Pinwheel' as can be seen in 'On Tour' (San Antonio, April 18th, 1972).

The back cover of the Japanese version of the MSG LP has an exact photo from the show.

Everybody is correct...the Eyelet suit with a white scarf on June 10, and with a red scarf on June 11 (seen above). I don't know that this suit ever had a proper belt made for it. I've only ever seen the belt above or a red eagle decorated one used in LV during the summer of 72.

Yes It's pretty. But I never once bought an LP for the front/back cover. I bought it for what was in the grooves.

Would somebody be kind enough and post a big scan of the back cover please. I would really dig that.

Is that cover from the Japanese RCA version an actual LP? I have that photo on the Japanese CD but I didn't know an LP existed as well... it would be amazing to see that in the 12" format...

Which version is this from? The track listing is for a double album.

BTW, would it have killed them to have some text describing what a big deal it was for Elvis to play MSG with a little more info on the show and pictures from the actual show. It's not like they had to drop the film off at the Photomat and wait a week for them to be developed! Talk about doing the absolute minimum!
