I own and read a lot of comics. In this thread I showcase the ones I really like.
1. Forget me not - Alix Garin (from Belgium)
A beautiful story about a young woman and her grandmother, a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Alix Garin was 24 when she wrote and draw this. The young woman in this 224 paged comic book is as well.

2. Magasin Général - Régis Loisel and Jean-Louis Tripp
Another wonderful comic book series was drawn and written from 2006 till 2014 in nine volumes by Régis Loisel and Jean-Louis Tripp counting over 600 pages in total: Magasin Général (“General store”). All playing in a little village (Notre-Dame-des-Lacs, Quebec), from the 1920’s till the early 1950’s, following several people who all grow older with time. It’s joyful, emotional at times, and I came to love them all.
A few years ago there were rumours about a film based on this series, but I haven’t heard about it since.

3. Animal - drawn and written by Colo
Would you be capable of renouncing your status as a human being… and assuming the ultimate consequences? At the center of it all here is a quiet and introspective man with a desire to live, but who isn’t quite sure in which world to do so. Is it he who is broken or is it society? What could he possibly cling to in order to carry on, despite being alienated from everything that surrounds him?
A man doesn’t want to be a human being anymore. He beliefs it’s his human right, to not being registered as a human being. He wins the case. But officially not being a human anymore, what does that make him? An animal? Can he pass borders like birds do? Does he get away with man slaughter?
Very interesting read in four parts. Almost like watching a documentary…

DC Black Label comics almost never disappoints. It’s the follow up label of Vertigo, aimed at readers from 17+. Reading these is like watching a movie. No surprise that Joker / Harley Quinn - Criminal Insanity was written by the woman who co-wrote the Beautiful Creatures film and series, Kami Garcia. Drawn by two different artists, with both their own style, a completely new Joker origins was created. And we get to see how - in this version of the story - Joker and Harley Quinn met and became related.
