Well you’d better go and invest in a good umbrella then because the forecast indicates the sun’s not gonna shine for a couple more weeks yet.DEH wrote:Sat Jul 16, 2022 7:27 pmHere comes the rain again. It's a great time for real Elvis fans and then.
You have brought nothing productive to this thread. And it's based on BS.
Yes. It's a great time to be a Elvis fan.luke1 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 7:47 pmShould soon be accumulating towards 200 million usd globally soon.Jaime1234 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 7:28 pmRight... Well you should certainly know all about BS as you write so much of it.
Jeremy Dick, the writer of that piece is incorrect in the passage you’ve quoted. Which I’m very surprised at as Film writers’ know how the split works.Jaime1234 wrote:Right... "At this point, however, it's all profit that comes in from continued ticket sales every week Elvis remains in theaters"

Exhausted? Giving up on his dreams for a world tour?InheritTheWind wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 4:47 amYes, there was a huge difference, and it wasn’t just Elvis’ pale skin. He seemed like a different person by 1972.emjel wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 2:34 amBut back to Elvis and I can remember the excitement of going to see On Tour when that was released and whilst that was great to watch, I couldn’t believe the difference between Elvis in Aug 70 and Elvis in April 72. I definitely wanted the 1970 Elvis back, but it was never to be.

“Elvis” should round out the box office’s top five. The Warner Bros. release added $2.3 million on Friday, only 32% down from one week ago. The Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic surpassed a $100 million domestic gross this week — an impressive result for a drama aimed squarely at older audiences.
Rubbish. If that were true, then they wouldn’t have spent time revamping Elvis’ music to also appeal to a younger generation. Even a Warner’s higher up said that they had to do it as they felt Elvis’ music sounded too dated for a young audience.Jaime1234 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 11:13 pmNow these are the projections from Variety

i tend to agree here, i really doubt they'd be able to sell a movie of this magnitude saying ''We're gonna do it for the older generation and it will be great'' i doubt ANY Business would say yes to that.emjel wrote: ↑Sun Jul 17, 2022 12:44 amRubbish. The article reads more like a press release with a few competent paragraphs added to it so I doubt Mr. Dick is knowledgeable outside of a gussied up press release from Warners’.
Box office results aside, the film is succeeding in the sense that parents take their kids so that's one side of connecting to a young audience..Johnny2523 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 17, 2022 12:54 ami tend to agree here, i really doubt they'd be able to sell a movie of this magnitude saying ''We're gonna do it for the older generation and it will be great'' i doubt ANY Business would say yes to that.emjel wrote: ↑Sun Jul 17, 2022 12:44 amRubbish.
