Interesting… now that makes it a tough decision. I’ll prob pass on the books and wait for just the cds.Sebastian E wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 4:47 pmRegarding Blue Hawaii:

The runtime of the third disc is 20:31.rockinrebel wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 3:43 pm
How long is the MSG press conference? From memory I'm guessing about 15 minutes. If that's the case, there should really be additional music on the third disc, or it should have been a two disc set...

Re: New FTDs: MSG & Blue Hawaii.
I've read on the Hoffman forum that the Blue Hawaii audio will be released later this year as a standalone set without the books.

If this is true, I'll wait for the FTD audio only release, but I think it's an April Fool's joke.Sebastian E wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 4:47 pmRegarding Blue Hawaii:

Yes it is and not as you expect it to be.

Re: New FTDs: MSG & Blue Hawaii.
In an interview over a decade ago, EJ said that FTD will deal with MSG at some point. No surprise there. Remixed by Matt Ross-Spang is the best they could do, I guess. And I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a beautiful release.

Thanks for your reply, I was unaware of that.Elvis2000 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 4:05 pmOne before Reconsider Baby, Elvis and Charlie call out for the song, it was mixed out on the box, it was left in on the An Afternoon In The Garden release. One before I Can't Stop Loving You where Glen accidentally starts playing Can't Help Falling In Love. The latter is way too obvious if you listen for it.flamingstar81 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 3:36 pmCould you please let us know what those few edits were in the afternoon show on the 'prince from another planet' release? I wasn't aware of any edits, I always thought it was the full, unedited show.

Re: New FTDs: MSG & Blue Hawaii.
Talk about Blue Hawaii when you find out the price tag for those alternate takes, released with a book. Remember, Ernst said that CDs with books would always be bonuses, and not have essential music on them.
Accused of being "a nerd in his 20s." I wish.
Re: New FTDs: MSG & Blue Hawaii.
Well apparently we get an option with or without the books. I appreciate that due to my ever increasing lack of space for these wonderfully done but big heavy books.

I'm happy with Prince from another planet. The Blue Hawaii book-CD sounds interesting, but it will depend on the price.

Re: New FTDs: MSG & Blue Hawaii.
I'm buying the Blue Hawaii set as an investment... I'll sell it in 10 years and put my grandchildren through college...
The MSG release is out of left field... would never have guessed they would have touched that again... ever!
That's purely for "the different sound quality" kind of release... undecided about it... wait and see what the price is.
It would have made more sense to have Matt remix the Aloha rehearsal show for 2023 release... wouldn't it? It could have even been a stand alone FTD release...

Re: New FTDs: MSG & Blue Hawaii.
Interesting decisions. That is certainly sensible and fair to release the Blue Hawaii sessions separately for those who are not that interested in the books. I will wait for that later release. As for MSG, I guess I'll get it for the new mix.

I've got all the MSG stuff i want... been following almost every release untill the latest white vinyl, so that will do.
As for the book, pass, they are way to expensive....

Re: New FTDs: MSG & Blue Hawaii.
I'm curious to hear how the different mix of MSG will sound, I wonder if anything can be done to make the drums sound better. Curious though I may be, I'm certainly not £60 curious

And can we be sure there will be a Blue Hawaii standalone CD release later on?
