I'll be buying no further Madison Square Garden releases.

"Prince" is my go-to set.
Same here!! Prince From Another Planet for me too.

“THE MAKING OF BLUE HAWAII” FTD Books Following on from the success of ‘The Making of Jailhouse Rock”, FTD Books announces the release of “The Making of Blue Hawaii”. The deluxe movie book contains 387 pages of rare photos and extensive memorabilia from the film including shooting schedules and memories from cast and crew. The music book includes 85 pages of photos and detailed recording documents. *4 compact discs feature the soundtrack recording sessions which are newly mixed from the original 3-track tapes. Featuring 50 unreleased takes, the songs are sequenced in recording order for the first time. A 33rpm vinyl EP is also included.

The recording sessions audio will be issued later this year as an FTD audio only release.

Apparently, someone on the Hoffman site has given a price of $370.

On the other hand that's the same Elvis Shop who claimed that the On Tour box would have a very limited pressing, and as far as I can tell there's been absolutely no shortage whatsoever.

So who knows...
...plain & simple that's a tactic used for years to try to gain more orders...nothing more.

They’ve probably added shipping costs to the US to get to $370

My suspicion is that they will do the Memphis show (again) with it being packaged with the March 16 Afternoon show and/or its evening show or March 17 afternoon show.

Now Dig This are offering these already. And they confirm that the Blue Hawaii audio will be re-issued later this year. That's very good news for many who requested this.

Isn't Never Been To Spain on The Searcher the Matt Ross Spang Mix? Remember reading something like this when it came out in 2018? Guess he remixed both MSG-concerts around that time and that's what we get now.

Always thought Never Been To Spain on The Searcher sounded quite good. A bit more upfront sound with a nice seperation.

That’s a nice surprise. I’ll go with BH but not sure about MSG. I’m surprised MSG is selling for the same price as a small 3 CD digipak for a soundboard though.

No, it’s the original 1972 mix.

For me, the later the better. The increase in higher bills that have been popping through the letter box these last few days is frightening especially as we are unexpectedly having to also spend £4k on a new gas boiler. :(

I’m glad that we already know that there’s going to be an FTD audio only release later this year, so I’ll wait for that. I bought The Making Of Jailhouse Rock because of the audio in sequence, not so much for the books. But I don’t regret buying it as the books are great, not to forget that it was because of the film that I became an Elvis fan. If Jailhouse Rock is re-released in the Session series I will buy it again though.

Listening to Reconsider Baby & I'll Remember You now from the Essential 70's Masters back to back with the same songs from Prince From Another Planet and to me the Joan Deary masters win hands down. Sounds a lot warmer to me than the PFAP mixes to me. Hope they get it right this time!

"Belated" 50th anniversary release?

It goes from bad to worse. Are they incapable of working out that they should have released the Aloha discs this year and the MSG release last year, and not the other way around?

FTD has become a joke.
Oh my god.

PEOPLE there is very, very little left. It is AMAZING to get another chance to listen to these shows (some of his very best of the era) in a new light.
