They don’t have the GGG tapes. What they put out recently is all they have. I know this is all a joke but I thought I would mention that. I hadn’t listened to my BH FTD in years and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. So maybe a book and complete cd set would be something for me. Interested in hearing more details. I skipped the Vegas book but the Jailhouse books with cds I have and it is excellent.

I have the Jailhouse Rock soundtrack CD that's included in the 20 soundtrack box. That's all I need.

Obviously Gonzo Distribution in UK is making their own Blue Hawaii box and it's as tacky as the company-name. Lots of papers that could have been printed by anyone and at £166 it's a friggin' joke. They should be sued for advertising this at such a price :wtf:

Isn't it sequence for regular FTD 2CD back from 2009?

I hope a lot of information about the (instrumental) music in the movie with songspots will be included. The Blue Hawaii cues (without details) are registered.

Not the FTD but for the Gonzo release. The Gonzo release is something completely different.

12 – Hula dance to “War chant”
In the final script dated 23 february 1961 no songtitle was mentioned for scene 152; it’s a Hawaiian instrumental for hula dance.

Kauai I ka hua huai aka The Hawaiian war chant.
The original version was recorded on 18 april 1913 by Hawaiian Quintette (Victor 65339).
There’s a clip on Youtube with Tommy Dorsey from the 30’s.

The instrumental version for the movie Blue Hawaii is recorded in april – may 1961 at Paramount studio. The scene is shoot on location between 27 march 1961 and 17 april 1961.

I own the 2 CD Blue Hawaii set that FTD released back in 2009? I also have the 3 CD set that FTD released in 2022 concerning Aloha From Hawaii. I'm finished with Elvis and Hawaii.

Am I right that Keith Flynn lists the tracks of the new FTD The Making Of Blue Hawaii as 'Blue Hawaii box'?
(and is 'Blue Hawaii FTD' the 2009 release?)

No that isn't it. Each take is listed as, 'The Making of Blue Hawaii (FTD)' and in between the The Making of Blue Hawaii and (FTD) he gives a number that tells you which disc it is on. For example Beach Boy Blues take 1 FS 0:51, is listed as, 'The Making of Blue Hawaii 4 (FTD)

No, that's the old Laurel LP set from the 1980s. Put together by the late Ger Rijff.

Thanks Mike and L Ray.
I now see that Keith only mentions The Making Of Blue Hawaii in the list of March 22, 1961
The title is not listed in the March 21 and 23 sessions.

I don’t know on which device you are looking, but on my iPad I don’t see the update of The Making Of Blue Hawaii nor the one for Let Me Be There, but on my iPhone and computer I see them. I don’t know why that is, but anyway, I’m seizing the opportunity to THANK Keith for his tremendous work and letting us share in it.
