No not gonna buy. The Prince From Another Planet will do fine. If i wanna hear another mix on both the shows i have the Japanese MSG original show and the Afternoon in the Garden cd's. I don't need the interview on cd first it's completely written out in the " Prince Planet" booklet. There is enough film available. And Elvis ignores almost all the importent questions.

I can only warn you to buy before it's really out and reviewed.
Since I found out that FTDs "Live On Stage In Memphis" was cut and edited I know that Ernst is unpredictable (Most obvious the false start of .. was it Help Me .. which later was on the Legacy release. So false start is not suitable for collector's but for mainstream audience? INSANE) .

FTDs On Stage In Memphis is the worst/most incomplete version I have. Waste of money.
FTDs Pittsburg New Years Eve is the worst/most incomplete version I have. Waste of money.

And there are several more FTD CDs I will never go to again because earlier releases or even Bootlegs were better. I will not buy any FTD "upgrade" before I can compare. I've wasted too much money on this guy.

Is the word ‘NOT’ missing from your sentence "I can only warn you to buy before it's really out and reviewed", ie ‘NOT to buy before…."

Sure a few insignificant cuts (to me at least) but the Memphis FTD offered true live sound. The legacy mix is a dull adventure in comparison.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Matt Ross will be asked to also remix Memphis, relevant or not.

I'm good - love PFAP

It's 800 miles from my house to Graceland, but I'm always up for making the trip!

I've stated my response in other threads....., but no I will not get this one. It will be the first FTD CD I do not have. Rob stated it well, many of us have these two shows in numerous forms (including the large FTD book about MSG).
I would consider purchasing it IF the final MSG show were included, even if that was simply a decent sounding AR. Sorry, I am passing on this one.

I will definitely get this. I don't see it as a cash grab. FTD have covered all Elvis sessions and releases from his life time so why wouldn't FTD cover this? I like Matt's work and look forward to hearing what he can do with this. PFAP is initially an exciting listen but I quickly find it tiring to listen to. Plus the sound stage is very narrow with everything fighting for centre stage. Love Elvis in 72 so it's a big yes from me.

Your avatar alone makes clear you simply must get a copy of the new FTD covering Madison Square Garden 1972 . . .

You got me there 😁. It's when my brother first got me into Elvis as a ten year old. So 72 has always been special to me.

Does anyone know what mix was used on the Japanese paper sleeved version? Is it the original mix with new mastering? Just wondering whether we have two or three different mixes already. Original, Japanese, PFAP

It’s way too expensive. Especially if you live in North America. Sure I’d be curious to check by myself the so called improved sound. For now I’ll wait and read the critics who listened to it to reconsider my prior assumption.

I have listened to original LP, CD, Japanese Paper sleeve and Legacy HD versions and to my ears they sound like the same original mix. Someone mentioned a Japanese Quad down mix to stereo. Unless that is the paper sleeve version I don't have that one so it could be a different mix? If not then I think we just have the original and PFAP. So for me it will be good to get a new version via FTD.

cheers

Looks like Matt Ross pulled it off.
Compared For the good times with PFAP, it’s quite different and the new audio has more depth, bass and a wider spectrum giving you the arena vibe.

Maybe he turned up the audience track a bit (like the Memphis FTD) but either way I think it sounds really, really good.

Look forward listening to the whole thing soon.

Thank you Robert for sharing the link. I'm now glad that I ordered the set. Not too long ago, I posted a topic about the possible reversal of the sound landscape on the original Madison album. I noticed after listening to Matt's superb re-mix of Aloha and the new On Tour set, that the piano was on the left channel and JB's guitar was on the right, but that was not the case on the original Madison Square LP by Ferrante. From listening to the the YouTube clip of "...Good Times" it sounds as if Matt has made that change so that audio matches visually what one would see and expect to hear from the stage based on the musicians set up. Also, the sound in the clip has a more natural arena atmosphere sound.

I have all the Elvis dialogue through the years since the 1950's on cd's including the 1972 MSG Press Conference. I also have both concerts, one being on the album boxset. I figure thats good enough. I wont be buying it.

I've had this on pre-order since day 1 and it's beyond me why any fan would want to skip a release like this. Owning too many copies already? Get rid of 'em. Too bitchy a wife? Well...
