I have all the USA Ike & Tina Turner albums FROM 1968 onwards - fantastic music and fantastic sounding vinyl. RIP

This thread does need to go in the off topic section of course.

No one is disputing Tina Turner's legendary performances or her contribution to rock music.

But, this thread definitely does belong in off topic, being that it's not Elvis-related.

A unique performer and I'm not the least bit surprised to read that Elvis was very fond of her. When she sang she put all her heart and soul into it... just like Elvis. RIP Tina.

RIP Tina. Great performer.

Has Tina ever mentioned Elvis in interviews? Certainly she met him since they worked at the same hotel in Vegas.

"I've learned very early in life, without a song, the day would never end. Without a song, a man ain't got a friend. Without a song, the road would never bend, without a song. So I'll keep on singing the song."

"The pace could be brutal between touring and schedules, but Vegas was best. The Turners' annual stays at the International, later the Hilton, allowed them to bring the kids along, sometimes taking all four of them to the big room to catch Elvis' extravaganza and he would have the whole family stand for a round of applause"
**** Tina Turner, in her autobiography "I Tina: My life story Tina Turner", written with Kurt Loder

It was me that posted on Facebook about always meeting up with Tina and the 3 Ikettes in 1970...........we were there in the International Hotel Restaurant every nite after seeing Elvis' show in the showroom.........they always came in and said hi to us gals.......(I was lucky enough to see 8 shows in Feb. I recorded them all and also 8 shows in Aug.Sept 1970.....all shows have been bootlegged or released by RCA) Tina and the gals walked into the restaurant after their shows and saw us all the time!.....Tina said you girls seeing Elvis again?!!!! We said YES!!!!!! She said He's so nice!!!!!! Very sweet....wish we had pictures......They must have met up sometime during the season.....Elvis ran into Ike during his engagment and said Do you remember me? (from the Sun days) I so wish there was a picture of them!!!! Never got to see Tina during her huge comeback but I've seen all the videos and have her cd's.....these are my wonderful memories from days long ago!!!!! One of the many stars we met up in 1970!!!!

Nice article but the writer has confused Dee Dee Warwick with Tina, as the latter never sang Suspicious Minds.

No, it should be under Classic Artists.
