Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
I am dissapointed that everything that was on the FTD release (which I bought) will now be on this set plus the blu-ray. That was my reason for buying the FTD; to get the shows re-mixed plus the outtakes of the bonus songs, which were then unreleased.
So now I'm undecided; do I sell the FTD and get this set? It would be just to get the show on blu-ray (I already have the DVD special edition from way back). Or do I skip it?

I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to decide... it'll be available on amazon.ca basically forever...Troubleman wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 5:34 pmI am dissapointed that everything that was on the FTD release (which I bought) will now be on this set plus the blu-ray. I know. I'll put it on my Christmas wish list. Someone in my family can buy it for me. That's all on the deluxe edition. So if a straight copy...elvis-fan wrote:That's quite an inside track you have on this new release that no one knows anything about...Mona Lisa wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 3:27 pmShould be really good audio on the blu_ray, plus be great to see the helicopter arrival if included. Or the press conferences...
Sure there will be slight visual improvement. To see the AMERICA EAGLE suit in all its glory.
Plus the iconic cape spread at the end of the rehearsal concert in HD - - yeah baby!
This new ALOHA release is a must.
Plus rehearsal show upgraded to same as main show sound which is what I've always wanted...
But it should be very good, no reason not to be. Maybe the helicopter arrival won't be included but hope so.
Looking forward to full details...

Graceland's Official Store has the Aloha box on pre-sale ($54.98 U.S.D. plus shipping). Also, Graceland is having a listening party with questions and answers on August 16 at the Guesthouse at Memphis - tickets are free but must be preordered.
From the description it would appear that the audio is exactly as previously released on FTD - no remixing of the rehearsal show.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
Any chance that the "Elvis, Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite" album gets an RIAA upgrade to coincide with this release? Wasn't there an article several years ago that said that the 1970 Camden Christmas Album and the Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite album should have RIAA Diamond awards. They've given the one for the Camden Christmas Album but not the one for Aloha From Hawaii. I believe the Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite album is at 5X Platinum and it hasn't been upgraded since 2002.
Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
Yep, it certainly looks that way. I won't be shelling out that kind of cash for just a Blu-ray that may be slightly upgraded.MysteryTrain wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 6:47 pmGraceland's Official Store has the Aloha box on pre-sale ($54.98 U.S.D. plus shipping). BTW, I think that if Sony keeps releasing 8" packages it is because they must be bringing positive results. They may not be a sales blowout, but they must be satisfactory sales.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
The release date for EOT was the 2nd Dec 2022 for both physical & digital. The digital arrived but the physical release was delayed with no date which then left fans wondering if it would get released be ause of the problems with Warner’s. Eventually, it was announced the release would be at the end of January. That’s the fiasco.dougkapp wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 9:05 pmWhat kind of fiasco, my friend? Regarding the sales, of course Sony are going to be reasonably happy because they know there is a ready made sales platform from the few thousand faithful - Sony could probably estimate the sales numbers for each release with the first week’s fan rush to buy the physical product. And then sales drop off and simply become drip feed sales over a long period of time, especially on the digital platforms where people can cherry pick what they want and for Sony, they are happy as there are no actual production costs.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
Indeed, but I have it in good authority now that FTD will put out early 2024, the 6 CD Sony set without the Blu-Ray movie, but with the OnTour interview Elvis did on a separate CD, so there will still be 7 discs in the package and we can buy it again.pmp wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 9:35 pmAnd, of course, we shouldn't forget the EOT FTD set that never appeared at all!emjel wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 9:32 pmThe release date for EOT was the 2nd Dec 2022 for both physical & digital. Hi there!! .
Good move! . Bye for now .Rockin_John wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 2:30 pmWell, FTD is one thing. Sony official releases another. That's how FTD treats the market. So. I bought Aloha FTD, and loved it. I was sure it was coming something offical too, so if this is good - I'll sell my FTD and buy this one instead

There are differences in the application of the expression fiasco in Portuguese and in English. In Portuguese we use fiasco when the situation is a total disaster.

It would need to sell several more million copies to get upgraded to a Diamond award and there’s no way it will do that.bluejays3577 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 6:57 pmAny chance that the "Elvis, Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite" album gets an RIAA upgrade to coincide with this release? Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
You just gotta laugh at the usual embellishments within that press release. As for the Aloha album being his fastest selling number 1 album, that’s questionable - it was released early February ‘73 and took just over 12 weeks to hit the top spot at the beginning of May ‘73. Roustabout released toward end of October ‘64 took just over 10 weeks. And Blue Hawaii did it in 7 weeks.bluejays3577 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 6:46 pmAccording to the press release, the physical releases are coming out the same day. Don’t bother with him. He comes on here 98% of the time to either talk about economics and what people buy or don’t buy and to chip away the shine of Elvis. Mostly the latter. And if you say anything negative about the almighty Beatles he shows a bit of passion finally. LolMona Lisa wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 12:03 amWhy have you gotta laugh?
