Looking at the press release used in some mags and above in Goldmine, it seems that Sony have now slightly re-worded their press release to indicate that all three discs have been newly remixed and remastered.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
This forthcoming streaming attraction probably explains why the "Alternate Aloha" show is presently unavailable for viewing on YouTube -- in the sunny UK, at least. A few days ago, I could no longer find the full concert, in decent quality, coming up anywhere in the YouTube search results. So I checked my browser history, and when I located the link I have used many times to view this material (I have the Deluxe Edition set, but rarely use my DVD player anymore), I clicked it only to now see a copyright notice on the actual page:

The 2022 FTD set was a brilliant improvement to the MAIN concert.Walter Hale 4 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 2:12 amSame here. Best to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to Elvis Sony and FTD products.
and very nicely remixed. This RCA set will be the same re-master.
The Rehearsal was very good on the 2013 set but how many times have I played it since it was re-released. Once possibly.
It will be interesting to hear Matt-Ross Spang's version but do I really need it?
The publicity does lie describing the recording as "a live album and concert film from that performance".
'ON TOUR' was a concert film - and COULD be improved with a proper rescanned BluRay upgrade.
ALOHA was a NTSC 525 line TV broadcast.
You cannot get anything more than 525 lines off the original tape.
Same as the Comeback Special (as already noted, the BluRay was no real improvement)
While there has been some improvement in up-scaling from 525 > BluRay, most good quality BluRay players will actually do that themselves from your old Aloha DVD.
So I think that you have to love Aloha (and want to play it often) to really need to buy this all over again if you already paid US$65 for the FTD 2022 version.
Cheers

The 68 Blu-ray was an upgrade from the old dvds. The four live concerts are especially more enjoyable. Not huge but an obvious improvement. Aloha could be even more so because of sound possibilities.

It would be nice if FTD could explain their pointless release that made total fools of us.
It really is a lack of respect at best.

But the audio will be improved on the blu~ray, as is the case for blu~rays ~~ the sound is always better revealing nuances previously unheard …PiersEIN wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 5:17 amThe 2022 FTD set was a brilliant improvement to the MAIN concert.Walter Hale 4 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 2:12 amSame here. Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
Even in the best-case scenario that the Rehearsal show is a fresh remix, It seems quite cynical that they'd put this out on FTD first, with the main show remixed to whet our appetites, then release, a year later, the whole shebang again with another remixed show. If this turns out to be a cut and paste of the FTD (no new remix for the Rehearsal show) with the blu ray...I don't have any issue with that. I can, and will stick with the DVDs, there is only so much that can be done with a videotaped source. At least, under those circumstances, those unaware of the FTD can pick this up and get a blu ray to boot. Having to rebuy the whole thing again just for the remixed rehearsal show seems like a kick to the nuts from our friends at SONY/FTD. I doubt even Parker would have stones enough to pull these shenanigans.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
I know the Aloha visual is video and not film.
However, in the Elvis The Concert shows the best quality visuals are from Aloha.
Blown up on the big screen Aloha looked better than the parts of TTWII SE.
Strange, because on dvd TTWII looks sharper than Aloha.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
I just feel if it was that obvious in the original and as in the extract I added yesterday, it seems strange that not only have fans been asking the questions about whether or not the rehearsal was now remixed, but we’ve had an extract on here from Bear Family showing that only CD1 has been remixed. Did all these people miss that bit. Also as I wrote, magazines picking up the press release and who could have simply have applied a copy and paste of the info, decided to reword it or left that important info out - why would they do that. I don’t think It is unreasonable to think that someone at Sony or perhaps Ernst realised that the original press release was a little vague following on from questions asked on forums and got it reworded very quickly just for clarification.RKSNASHVILLE wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 12:27 pmEmjel wrote:Looking at the press release used in some mags and above in Goldmine, it seems that Sony have now slightly re-worded their press release to indicate that all three discs have been newly remixed and remastered.

But as others have now pointed out on various forums and FB pages, this release is now being regarded as a slap in the face to those who went out and bought the FTD release.

I am tempted to buy again in the digital format because it is in high resolution as opposed to the standard CD resolution we have with the FTD package.
Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
Are you saying Scoobie that the sound will be even better on the new deluxe package, but you got to have the right gear to hear it??

Everything surrounding the Aloha event is well known to many people who do not collect FTD releases so I would disagree about this claim you make...time will tellemjel wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 1:45 amEvery release that Sony puts out on mainstream gets this kind of marketing blurb for the mags to use - we got it with Elvis on Tour and previous releases like From Elvis in Nashville, but they didn’t put Elvis in the spotlight as such and I doubt this will either. In fact with a now fragmented market because many fans have bought the FTD release, and the fact that many of the songs are duplicated again from the recent On Tour set, this is likely to be get the lowest sales of physical product in the last 24 months.ForeverElvis wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 11:25 pmGoldmine magazine

The PR push will put Elvis in the spotlight again this year. Something the FTD release couldn’t do.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
Hi, yes, I do have the right gear to hear the difference. Some Hi-res offerings give only a subtle difference, others are more markedly improved. This will be my first encounter with Mr. Ross-Spang's work in high resolution, so only time will tell (if I re-invest yet again).
I went through a long phase of believing that high-res was always the best you could get and bought everything I could in high-res. Then Mr. Ross-Spang's work showed me that mixing and mastering played far bigger role in improving what one hears.
These things, the mixing, the mastering and the bit depth and frequency all work together to improve sound. Now I will have a chance to sample both in one package.
Using a balanced output and balanced headphones also makes a big difference.

It does seem typical of Elvis releases, though, that they can't even get a press release right first time.
Accused of being "a nerd in his 20s." I wish.
