On page 6 or other pages with a song selection in the book Making of Blue Hawaii nothing is mentioned about “Moon burn”
The song is written by Fred Wise-Ben Weisman-Dolores Fuller.
I’ve no information about the songspot in the movie.
On the backside of the Electrovox acetate is a demo version of “Playing with fire”.
The song is written by Fred Wise & Ben Weisman.
In the final white script dated 23 february 1961 no songtitle was mentioned for scene 167.
In the musical break down the song was selected for this scene but never recorded.
In the revised final white script dated 17 march 1961the song Steppin’ out of line was selected now for scene 167. (see scans)

The second script page you have posted has been scanned form the book, The Making of Blue Hawaii...correct?
I have skipped many of those book/cd combos lately! I'm more the audio fan of Elvis' output! Still, I don't mind the Blue Hawaii Sessions coming along as a separate release! If it doesn't, I'm well off with the long since FTD!
"If you love me let me know, if you don't, ....move it!"
... I wish they do more “making of” books. They could name the on tour book that way too, btw.
frus75, it's my understanding (from some members on this forum) that FTD have decided not to do a specific Elvis On Tour book.
Instead it'll be an Elvis book/cd set covering the entire year of 1972.

Thanks Paul. Indeed that sounds even better. It’ll be the perfect place to put the complete 1972 sessions too

Good morning...the last line of your post is not totally correct... More information soon.
The set is pencilled in for an October/November release at the moment.

I don’t think it’s going to be the whole of 1972 ie, excluding his Vegas engagements etc but just covers the time that Elvis was out on the road touring during 1972.

Thank you, David, for your input. I'm looking forward to that release, as I'm sure we all are!

Not sure I am looking forward to the release, but more curious as to what is going to be included. Now had it been as originally planned, and presented in the same way as the TTWII set, it would have probably been a definte purchase, price dependant of course. I had a look at the Lorentzen set that came out last year and covered the tours for 1972 and there were just too many photos of nearly identical poses with two or three second gaps between taking the shot. What I am looking forward to is the "more information soon".

I’m still thinking that a 1972 book could be a good house for the complete 1972 Hollywood sessions and the complete 1972 Vegas recordings. That could be 3-4 cds.
These book projects are an amazing piece of work, and are stellar. As Will Friedwald used to say about the Sinatra cd boxes, they give you more furniture than your local IKEA.
The audio material on those books has evolved from bonus to essential. On the Viva Las Vegas book, the music was just a bonus. They could have done like Blue Hawaii and release the sessions as part of the book, but they’ve already been released.
Then they did the TTWII double book and the music was in part officially unreleased, but for the most part we already knew the material, and the sound was compromised too.
Comes Jailhouse Rock and the material Gad already been released on the classic albums, but here it was monaural an fully organized.
But Blue Hawaii has raised the gamble. The sound is amazing and the sessions are complete and with new unreleased material too. Luckily for those who can’t afford the book or simply don’t want it, the label will offer the music on its own later on.
In all, amazing work and amazing product. Top notch quality. I know they were lesser movies and were not high points on his career, but these books leave me considering viable to have GI Blues or even it happened at the world’s fair with complete sessions too.
Of course my friend, but the music would be a bonus here. So I wouldn’t mind a book about GI Blues that - at the same time - would include the complete sessions. There are other complete sessions where the unreleased parts are just bits and pieces (ie lost sessions, his hand in mine, is back, something for everybody, pot luck..).

I would like to have the complete March 1972 studio sessions but I do not wish to join the FTD book of the month club in order to get it. It should be released separately maybe paired up with the March 1975 sessions, both recorded in Hollywood, California.

But they could do like they will with blue Hawaii: release the book and audio, and later on release the audio separately.
