Mexico released this promo 7" of 'Guitar Man' backed with 'Lovin' Arms' (SP 5540)

Looks like the holy grail of archival Elvis Presley recordings. What is FTD waiting for?

The U.S.A. cassette transposed the original running order of the respective tracks "Just Call Me Lonesome" and "I'm Movin' On".

Limited edition belt buckle that apparently came with promo copies of the initial single.

I'd rather hear the least interesting overdub from the 1980 Guitar Man sessions than anything involving the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Rare digipak import 2CD that collected all of the existing Young 'un Sound material [released officially and otherwise], together with the UK edition of the 1983 I Was The One [plus The Elvis Medley] LP:

Absolutely. That is the one guy who you would think would own all six buckles.
The only thing I have done with tooth and nail is defend Felton Jarvis's legacy.
Just giving credit where it is due!
Some Jarvis artifacts I purchased to keep them together. There are very few family members in his estate alive today... Had I met Felton, I would have asked to take a picture with him and thank him.
Anyway, I will return ( have made contact) some items for the few family (Jarvis) members to retain in their possession.
Why you may ask, have I dedicated so much time and money with something pertaining to this great Elvis Presley record producer and friend?

Because I can.

It's purely nostalgic for me concerning this LP, as I was so young at the time and I initially liked it. That is, until I got a bit older and wiser until I knew better.

I think it's been over 25 years since I've played that LP and don't intend to visit it again anytime.

I also own the original 1981 45RPM single, but that is as far as I'll go with it.

The Guitar Man Album gave Elvis another Top 10 Country Charts Album ( peaked 6) and another top 50 album on the Billboard Album Charts ( peaked at 49). The single Guitar Man (1981 release) was a number 1 hit on the Country Charts and peaked at 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts.

A repaired mix of "Blue Suede Shoes" [featuring the legendary Carl Perkins] that comes devoid of the clashing and excessive delay effect on Elvis' vocal track [a multi-loop of the Aug 25, 1969 MS performance].

Much of the audience bleed as originally heard on FTD's Too Much Monkey Business has also been eliminated.

Sounds a lot more palatable and harmonious now.

I would like to see a remix (if possible) by Matt Ross-Spang of these sessions via FTD, I wonder how much better it could sound if given a cleaner and more dynamic mix.

Some of much missed member, Juan Luis's rough cassette dubs from a few years back give a glimpse of the promise of what lays underneath the layers of 80's processing.
And better transfers of Elvis' isolated vocals [and not the copies that Jarvis had to use] could also be made today, which would also probably help give more synergy with the new backing tracks.

I certainly remember the title track being played constantly on the country stations back in the day as well as the "Elvis Medley". I always thought it was one of the better remixes done.it was one of those tunes that I always turned up real loud when it came on! it may have been the drums that got me going, i really enjoyed that track. I believe it was the first time fans got remixed/reworked "updated songs, so like it or not, it was exciting that this was even released. I had the album as well, but most of the other songs I did not care for. "After lovin' you" and " you asked me to" were OK... Hey, the album cover was cool!

And the later FTD had "Hey Jude". Don't know why this song always gets a bad rap, but I think Elvis' cover is good , but then again, I'm not a Beatles fan.

Really enjoyed the Guitar Man LP when it was released in 1981.
The title track especially sounded very modern at the time.

I quite like the version of Lovin' Arms from these sessions, dare I say as much as I like the master.
