A member asked Does anyone have a list of all of Kevan Budd's Elvis releases? Off the top of my head, the only one I know of is Elvis At Sun.

I listened to Polk Salad Annie in comparison with the Legacy Edition.
In the new Memphis album, the sound of the pipes and backing vocals are reduced in the mix, which is nice, but I did not like that the drums and James Burton's guitar were turned down in the mix.
Okay, Elvis' voice may sound too dry to most people in Legacy, but overall it seemed clearer to me than the new Memphis album. I don't know if he did this to reduce to too much drum cymbals, but it sounded more muffled to my ears.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, but I've been reading on it for the past couple of months.

7. Is It So Strange
8. That's When Your Heartaches Begin

AMERICAN SOUND STUDIO January 1969
9. This is the Story
10. A Little Bit of Green
11. Rubberneckin'
12. Inherit the Wind
13. My Little Friend
14. I'll Be There

AMERICAN SOUND STUDIO February 1969
15. And the Grass Won't Pay No Mind
16. If I'm A Fool (For Loving You)
17. Who Am I?

STAX STUDIO July 1973
18. It's Diff'rent Now - rehearsal
19. Girl of Mine

STAX STUDIO December 1973
20. Mr. Songman
21. Thinking About You

That's a lot of studio tracks missing from this set.

Can't be a "Vol 2" to follow up something that was never called "The Complete Memphis."

No doubt SONY Legacy would green-light that in a heartbeat.

I think some would suggest having a "Memphis Vol.2" with a subtitle (Because we didn’t quite get it right on Vol 1) with a further subtitle (like we generally seem to do)

They could even include in the box, a flyer which states "Coming Next Year - Memphis Complete: a brand new set that includes every master recording Elvis made in his hometown, all remastered and remixed and in one wonderful collection. Also included are selected outtakes that have previously been released but not remixed. Subtext would be "because we want you to buy the stuff all over again for your collection"

Well, perhaps you can ask your little friend to do that the next time he rips off Sony product.

Firstly as I have repeatedly told you and recently asked you to log it into your memory cells, I don’t know him, have never met him and he isn’t my little friend/buddy/pal or any other noun you are desperate to use.

Secondly, he or the label wouldn’t be able to rip off the recordings you reference as they are not in the public domain. There is a reason that the label stops at releasing studio recordings made beyond 1962 unlike other labels that DO release recordings made after 1962 such as The Lost 1966 Album, Nashville 1960-67, Elvis ‘68 Unleashed, or Rags to Riches the Mono Recordings to name a few studio recording released in the last year, not forgetting all the illegally recorded Elvis shows that keep getting out out, yet do not seem to attract your wrath.

Thirdly, are you seriously trying to tell us that RCA/BMG or Sony over the years have never put out releases that you felt could have been much better and do things that never exploit fans.

As I suggested the other day, take your personal grievances with the owner of the MRS label elsewhere. If you have substantial proof of all the things you claim he has done or his company has done, then there are legal channels you can use.

Exactly - continued accusation after accusation - it never stops. And then he cries when the owner of the label puts out a credit which is so subtle, the majority wouldn’t even give it a second thought.

Or in a fit of candour "Elvis Memphis Volume 2 - The tracks we omitted to make you buy this one".
Although surely Sony would never adopt such tactics, or seek to take advantage of the Elvis fan base in such a way. (if there was a sarcasm "smile" I would insert it here).
