Definitely be picking up the Spinout LP. The '77 tour from February is certainly not his best work but these shows were in pretty decent sound so I may pick this one up as well...if the price is reasonable.

Since it is called "volume 1" we may get one from every 1977 tour...

It was about time! :D

Fantastic! Looking forward to the last tours volume 1 and a great picture chosen for the cover. Glad to see FTD covering 1977 once again. Yes, like Vinelvis already stated, we may see subsequent volumes released, which may eventually accumulate into the Elvis in concert album FTD reissue.

From this volume 1 release, is there anything on this that is unreleased, which is not included on the final curtain boxset?

I'm hopeful they do a series from the end of April as well... those were some pretty good shows for '77.

FTD already released Feb 20th on Unchained Melody. The 13th and 16th can be found on the boot Coming On Strong.
The 18th was a boot called Release me in not so good sound.

With the exception of "Release me" and "Trying to get to you" all from the February 18 and the tracks from February 19 are previously unreleased as soundboard recordings.

Since they did not include anything from the tour opening on February 12 I assume they don't have that show in the vaults. Would have been a nice addition to have the first show of the year on this set but as it is it is also no big loss.
It's good FTD tackles 1977 and has obviously plans to release more from that year in a follow-up package.

Looking forward to the vinyl as well, althoug I would have preferred to have it as "Spinout". I've never been much of a fan of the English European release title but also no big deal here.
I am wondering if the release of the vinyl is a hint at an upcoming possible session set for that soundtrack.

It also appears they don't have the savannah show, one of the strongest shows of the year which is too bad. But i am happy to see columbia and Johnson city! (We can now line up the soundboard audio with the 8mm footage lol)

That one had a horrid mastering glitch IIRC. I would have to get my FTD from the shelf and play it.

February 18 & 19 are completely new (soundboard). Interesting there will be a second Volume. Not his finest year, but still essential.

They sure were! I think if this one sells the usual amount they just continue until the June tour.

Maybe they'll release Elvis in concert + June 26 as the last part of the series and the last FTD ever, who knows.

Very much looking forward to both of these, wish FTD could have done a book with the 77 set, ala ‘Final Curtain’

California Holiday should have been “SPINOUT” instead of CH.

Looks like it's 60 GPB on elvis shop London which makes it around $79 USD. ( approx ) For 4 cds, which seems it's on the high side compared to the sessions sets with 5 cd's.
We will have to see if the price varies.?

We've been waiting for shows from 1977 for a long time. Now we have 6 shows in this box.
I hope FTD will release one of the Madison Square Garden concerts or Aloha with the new Matt Ross mix, on vinyl (LP).
