I’m sorry, I’m not clear.
Is there a King Creole FTD book and CD being worked on at FTD or announced? Or is this just speculation?

I really love the movie and the soundtrack of "King Creole" but with the FTD audio and book releases in my possession I don't see myself spending any money on another release. The only reason to buy it again would be if they have found additional audio material that has not been available earlier - which unfortunately I doubt will happen. I've just been looking through the FTD book from 2010 and it is all I really need on this. We also already had an FTD vinyl release for "King Creole".
I think there's other soundtrack/movie material that has not been covered as extensively in the past that should be prioritized.

Speculation. But speculations have turned out to be true before, so... . I wouldn't mind King Creole receiving the "The Making of... " treatment. Not at all.

I’m with you. No new music (which is expectable) no buy. I got the book/cd and the FTD special edition. As wel I got the Ger Riiff book and the Frame to Frame book . For the same reason I didn’t buy the Jailhouse Rock bookset with the mono sessions.

I'm good with the 2015 FTD release of the KC 2 CD set. More than enough actually. I can do without the book. Even Rob would agree. :smt005

Have the FTD King Creole 2 cd set; the FTD King Creole book with cd; the FTD King Creole FTD and the King Creole 'Frame by Frame' book.... I reckon that would be enough. Only if they have unearthed new outtakes it would be an option to buy a new King Creole release by FTD.

Maybe they found alternate King Creole acetates .. but now with a humming noise in the background. Like we had with Jailhouse Rock.

The last few FTDs have come with that sticker so don’t read into it too much.

There's nothing to excuse for Ernst. In case you didn't notice it yet: This is a collectors label where there is audio limitation, cursing, bad language etc. This is what the label is all about. All other audio is mainstream. The intension was to distribute these collector CDs only to fan-clubs and special dealers. So, why suddenly the stickers? It it because you are now selling the formerly 'unusable' collector's material everywhere like Amazon, Graceland Shops etc? Is this the reason why suddenly words like 'sh*t' and funny studio banter have been cut out of our collectors releases?

If you’d asked me I’d say this kind of sticker comes either from a lawyer at Sony having the idea of preventing any “stupid” complaint or because an actual complaint has already happened (with Elvis or any other artist). Continental law is not the same as common law, and a lawsuit in France, Spain, Italy etc would have zero chances of getting nowhere, but in USA anything can happen. So I can see somebody somewhere saying: “hey let’s put that sticker”.

As an real example, knowing nothing about bootlegs or soundboards or audience recordings, there was a famous record store in Barcelona called Discos Castelló, that sold FTD and fort Baxter etc. Well, they had costumers wanting a refund because of sound quality. I’m ashamed to say I was the first. I was 16 and bought an August 71 show and it was an audience show sounding like crap, and I was devastated, I had saved the money for a new cd. My mom told me “go and demand a refund “. The guy was rude he even put the cd on the shop sound system, but I insisted and they refunded me in credit only if I pick something right there, and happily the new Madison square garden cd was there and I picked it up.

If there had been a sticker saying it was an audience recording they wouldn’t had refunded me .

Later that year I found just pretend by fort Baxter and doubted a lot , but finally bough it and this time I kept it Image

Often there's a great deal to excuse. The last time material from this tour came out, there were faults where there hadn't been on the Fort Baxter CD of the same recordings.

My own take on these stickers is "we're transferring these tapes as found and any faults are on the tapes and therefore not our fault," whether they can be corrected (such as speed issues) or not.

We'll see when the reviews start coming in, but considering the discs are only sold online and the sticker isn't shown on the images on the sites they are available from, it makes the sticker about as much use as a chocolate teapot. You only see it once you've bought it.

We're all aware stupid complaints are a given when it comes to FTD releases so that can't be the reason...

Anyone purchasing this live 1977 set should not be complaining about stickers, sound quality, speed issues, or anything else. You ought to know by now the crappy soundboards FTD puts out. And who in their right mind actually enjoys hearing Elvis live 1976/1977.
