It seems true and it's shocking!
Almost a half page missing after the sentence "I think I was ten." And even altered the text a little bit after it continues!

That is so weird. Why would they do that?bronsky wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 5:10 pmIt seems true and it's shocking!

Re: Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough's Book: From Here to the Great Unknown
With a lot of hassle, Elvis orders to make an 11 and a half carat diamond ring, worth $70.000. This happened in late January 1977, after Ginger agreed not to come along to the studio in Nashville (Creative Workshop).
The plan was to get married on Christmas Day 1977, with the announcement in the fall. The bad thing (at least for Elvis) is that there were rumors that Ginger was cheating on him the night Elvis gave the ring. Afterwards it became clear that Ginger and her family wanted to profit from Elvis' money.
It is also naive on both sides, what a 42-year-old superstar should do with a recently turned twenties, a twenty-something with a singer who had made a problem of himself (partly thanks to Parker). Ultimately the engagement was finalized. But no more than that.

The part about abuse has not been left out in the Dutch version of the book.

It’s possible he proposed marriage to her to try to manipulate her to stay with him but I still doubt he ever intended to really marry her. That ring can be seen in Elvis In Concert but she’s wearing it on the index finger of her right hand.billy jack wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 7:06 pmWith a lot of hassle, Elvis orders to make an 11 and a half carat diamond ring, worth $70.000. I also don’t buy that he discussed their wedding the morning he died. Nancy Rooks (Elvis’ maid/cook) said they were fighting about her not want to go on the first part of the tour with Elvis yelling, “If you don’t go tonight, someone else will be in your place!”

In Mike Edwards book back in the 1980s he actually admitted to some of the stuff that Lisa is talking about in her book. Of course he's going to deny it now. Just FYI.

I don't think Elvis wanted to get married again.

Re: Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough's Book: From Here to the Great Unknown
It had been said that Elvis still desired to have a son who he wanted to name John Barron. If that was the case, he maybe still desired to get married at some point but probably not in that near future.

I thought I posted the article that mentions this. This one does:

I’m not judging whose account is true, only that he has spoken out and denied it.

that's really low act on the british publishing company's part. I wonder if the australian edition is also censored?bronsky wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 6:49 pmThey removed the sexual abuse and left the physical abuse in it.Two different publishing companies.Igotstung wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 6:25 pmThat is so weird. Can british fans protest this meaningless act , boycott the book and instead acquire import copies from the U.S. ?

Yes, i would tend to agree but why didn't Priscilla take legal action again Edwards?
That poor, dear girl was interfered with a number of times, sexually and beaten (presumably punched and slapped at) anywhere from 10 to 13 years of age. I felt so bad for Lisa reading this.

can i ask (because it's the first time i ever heard of it) does anyone know on how long ago, like in what year, was it revealed Edwards had interfered with Lisa? Was there any legal action taken against the culprit?

Re: Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough's Book: From Here to the Great Unknown
Mike Edwards lived with Priscilla Presley from 1978 to 1984. After they broke up in late 1984 Mike Edwards began working on a book about his relationship with Priscilla. The book called Elvis, Priscilla and Me was published in 1988. In that book he talks about developing a sexual attraction to Lisa when she was a 11 years old. Some Elvis fans read his book at the time and thought he was a sick individual. No legal action was taken against Mike Edwards for that. He was never arrested or charged with any crimes.Walter Hale 4 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 1:27 amcan i ask (because it's the first time i ever heard of it) does anyone know on how long ago, like in what year, was it revealed Edwards had interfered with Lisa? No, never heard of him, other than the IHATWF "Mike Edwards" character.
So the lowlife actually wrote a book and included these in his book?

Re: Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough's Book: From Here to the Great Unknown
This is likely because British and EU libel laws are different than in the US. They would be more likely open to a lawsuit from Edwards in the UK and EU.Walter Hale 4 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 1:02 amthat's really low act on the british publishing company's part. Reading on these sexual and physical abuse (i did not know about), I already felt so bad and sad for Lisa's decline, both prior to and then immediately after her death.
Now i am just appalled on a number of fronts. Why the hell didn't Priscilla take some legal action?
R.I.P wherever you are.

He’s claiming the his publisher told him to embellish that part of his book. That’s his defense. Ironically a lot of the Priscilla haters love his book. I guess they missed that chapter?brian wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 1:39 amMike Edwards lived with Priscilla Presley from 1978 to 1984.
