These kind of songs were written for a special scene in the movie. These songs were not written to steal the show on LP. On albums these songs are fillers to get 10-12 tracks from the movie on the album(s).

Big Boots, Rhumba in A Sports Car, Ito Eats, The Song of A Shrimp, How Would You Like to Be, Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Shake that Tambourine, Beach Shack, Old Mc Donald, Yoga is as Yoga Does, Petunia, Dominic and Confidence are songs that Elvis didn't like and he did not want to record. But he had no choice.

As stated in the past:
Elvis heard the demo “Antwerp here we come“ written by Randy Starr. It sounds a lot like “Old MacDoald” and he ask for this song with re-written lyrics. The song was recorded so it was Elvis’ choice.

Elvis fans only dislike the song. Probably for scene # 156 – sung on pick up – truck loaded with chickens???

The song was recorded too by Frank Sinatra and others.

Where did you find the information Elvis dislike these songs? I'm not interested in rumours.

He wrote that Elvis was paid a lot for his movies and soundtracks in the 60's but the quality of them was low. He used also the word "garbage" for these movies and soundtracks of Elvis in the middle 60's.

My personal opinion is that Elvis began to be bored with his movie career formula in 1965, with Harum Scarum.

Being Elvis's choice doesn't make his version of the song any more accomplished or the scene in the film any more appealing. By comparison, Frank Sinatra's recording is brimming with joy, creativity, and enthusiasm. Elvis's is totally banal by comparison. Each version was recorded with completely different standards at play.

It says something when even the author (Gerald Nelson) of ''Yoga Is As Yoga Does'' says: ''It's just incredible how bad it was''.

''Shake That Tambourine''................it took 38 takes to finally create the Master, from two takes (24 & 28). It reflected negatively on the entire session for HS.

38 takes including a lot of false starts; I don’t think the recording last more time comparing 29 takes of Can’t help fallin’ in love. I’ve not compared recording times.

"Time" is relative if we're speaking about recording garbage. Even one minute on "Shake That Tambourine" is a waste of time.
