⭐ ELVIS IN CONCERT 1977 HD (Upscaled) ⭐
Hey Folks,
If you need your 'E'' fix for the day and you want to watch any of Elvis's CBS TV Special 1977 but just don't feel you want to watch it all or have the time to watch all of it or the loading a DVD is a hassle then you could do worse than to visit the material on this YouTube channel. It's the best quality I've seen anyway. It starts with the songs from the DVD's slightly edited then the whole show follows.
It's been remastered and actually in HD.(Upscaled) Thankfully no A.I. has been used either. Not only that the show is in stereo too unlike a lot of versions out there. It's equal to or better quality than The Final Curtain too I would say.
I will say though that the best sound quality on a DVD for the 1977 material especially the bonus tracks I think is 'Elvis In Concert - The Alternate CBS TV Special' STAR DVD as basically it's the album soundtrack on the footage.
Nice job on the remaster Oleksandr Grygoruk. Best quality I've ever seen the CBS TV Special 1977.

Re: ⭐ ELVIS IN CONCERT 1977 HD (Upscaled) ⭐
If this special ever gets released on DVD or Blu-Ray , I hope they ditch all the fan interviews and just concentrate on the little bits of getting the arena ready and then the shows - for me, everything else makes the special look so dated. But it is still so sad to watch and even harder when i think back to the performances in TTWII just 7 years earlier.

Re: ⭐ ELVIS IN CONCERT 1977 HD (Upscaled) ⭐
I must admit I really like the opening seeing inside the Arena and the show being set up. I especially like the bit when you see Elvis coming into the building but I really wish the cameraman had got in front of him instead of seeing him from behind! Then walking through that narrow corridor before going on stage.emjel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 2:11 amIf this special ever gets released on DVD or Blu-Ray , I hope they ditch all the fan interviews and just concentrate on the little bits of getting the arena ready and then the shows - for me, everything else makes the special look so dated. Come on now emjel, don’t you think that future fans should know about all the things he buys, the cars, all the rings, the clothes. It’s quality. How he’s a religious person but he’s human. He cusses onstage but he’s human, I mean, but he’s religious, he’s nice to people, like, he’s, he’s human!emjel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 2:11 amIf this special ever gets released on DVD or Blu-Ray , I hope they ditch all the fan interviews and just concentrate on the little bits of getting the arena ready and then the shows - for me, everything else makes the special look so dated. People need to know that he was honest, he’s honest, that’s the main thing and he’s got vibes.

I think, if FTD ever finally releases all of the CBS footage, they should do something like the following DVD set:emjel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 2:11 amIf this special ever gets released on DVD or Blu-Ray , I hope they ditch all the fan interviews and just concentrate on the little bits of getting the arena ready and then the shows - for me, everything else makes the special look so dated. DVD 1. An edit that is the original edit of the special, unspoiled for all purists.
DVD 2. An edit that features a version of the special with the same song lineup minus the fan interviews.
DVD 3. 6/21/1977 Complete including all backstage footage and band solos
DVD 4. 6/19/1977 Complete including all backstage footage and band solos
DVD 5. An "extra footage" DVD showing all the miscellaneous footage that was filmed of fans, the area, etc.
DVD 6. An "extra angles" DVD featuring edits of 6/21/1977 with alternate angles that were filmed.
DVD 7. An "extra angles 2" DVD featuring edits of 6/19/1977 with alternate angles that were filmed.

EIC footage will never be officially released however I could see an audio release from FTD one of these days.

Never say never. Clearly certain changes have allowed FTD to proceed with releasing 1977 material on audio CD on multiple volumes.steve in sc4 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 3:57 amEIC footage will never be officially released however I could see an audio release from FTD one of these days.

I think it is safe to say that FTD will "never’ release a DVD of the material.

Okay - if you feel the demand is there, lol, then I guess the powers that be could run with a deluxe 2 disc DVD set with the second disc full of all those interviews/comments plus all the others that got left off the original broadcast, and as bonus material.Jokerlola wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 3:48 amCome on now emjel, don’t you think that future fans should know about all the things he buys, the cars, all the rings, the clothes. Official video release? If you are a fan - the video is already out there. For the rest of the world - it's the shattering of his image.

Riley is going up hold her mothers wishes so the EIC special and any additional footage with never be released in her lifetime or the lifetimes of her sisters. The best we’re going to get from FTD is maybe a re-release of the soundtrack.

Question for the group: Did Elvis ever see an advance screening of these shows?

There's no need to hide this material anymore. Millions of people saw the Unchained Melody footage as used in the ELVIS movie, a performance that didn't make the cut back in 1977.
It's a different era. Everyone knows what happened to him. Seeing it will evoke sympathy for Elvis, as it did in the film.

And I agree 200% with her.
To focus on the highlights rather than the ultimate lowest point ever is the way to go. Let's remember him as the vibrant and dinamic artist he was during most of his career. No need to put a spotlight on those final months.

I don't see the harm it would do with all of these crappy bootleg uploads that get millions of views already on Youtube, Facebook, TIkTok, etcelvisjock wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 11:44 pmThere's no need to hide this material anymore. I'm not advocating for a bluray super deluxe either but I don't think Elvis' credibility & reputation would be any worse if a small run were to be released via Graceland, FTD etc.

This subject has been discussed extensively here.
Since we can't use the search tool right now to revisit them, it's best to say that you two are being willfully naïve about the personal, professional and business aspects of ANY official release of CBS-TV's "Elvis In Concert."
And maybe just a little bit selfish and cruel.
Don't be cruel.
