Best track on "A date with Elvis" LP 1959
And here we have the sister/brother to "For LP fans only", but in my opinon a little weaker (BUT still strong) collection of songs. But the cover is cool.
The album starts in a great way, but I have some trouble with the last three tracks.
But one of my all time favourites is on this album and the song is "Baby, let´s play house". It has everything that makes rock-a-billy/rock´n´roll worth hearing. The slap-bass is awesome and the "baby, baby, baby"--stuff is rock history.
Guess my voting....

I know it's not Stayin Alive type of disco music. To me it sounds like a good dance record.

Of course, the sound is better on "At sun", but the sound on those two albums is the sound that I remember from the childhood. Call it nostalgia if you like.MysteryTrain wrote:Soundwise, both "For LP Fans Only" and "A Date With Elvis" stunk! RCA added too much echo to the tracks and ruined them. Your best bet in to check out Kevan Budd's "Elvis At Sun" and find the non-Sun tracks on the various CD releases after 2002.
