Best track on "It happened at the world´s fair" LP

Post by dreambear »

Well, here we reach a new lowest point in Elvis´ LP production to date. A very short running album, the worst sound quality to date and worst of all...the first time Elvis doesn´t sound interrested in all songs. He had recorded a few really bad songs before, but the perfomance of those were really great. No songs to remove, but I wished I could have removed "How would you like to be"! "Take me to the fair" and "Cotton Candy Land" ain´t no smash hits either. But even here you can find a few solid tracks and "They remind me to much of you" is not only solid....it´s delicate!. It get´s my vote! I also kind a like "Beyond the bend". The rest of the songs are ok, but not much more. (The performance of "I´m falling in love tonight" is really good though).

Vote on!

Regards!//Björn

Björn, when you first started doing these polls, I thought, "God, not another set of polls. How boring!" But they have certainly grown on me over the weeks, and now I love them. As soon as I’ve answered one, I’m anxiously looking forward to the next. Nice going and keep them coming!

My vote goes to "Relax", because it’s my all-time favorite from this album, although both "They Remind Me too Much of You" and "I’m Falling in Love Tonight" are superb.

I like all the tracks. Even the "kids" songs. I voted for "One Broken Heart For Sale." It was a tough decision. The Don Robertson penned ballads are great, too.

I have two kids (1 & 2 years). They seem to prefer Devil in disguise instead of the kids songs.

One Broken Heart got Mine!

I saw Elvis live in concert the year before he died. Even then, he was bigger than life, and had amazing charisma. Haven't seen anything like it since, ....until Adam.........Nocturnal 2010

I chose "Relax", but now that I think of it, one of my all time fav Elvis ballad is "They Remind Me too Much of You" :!:

Elvis' singing is passionate, sincere ... a sublime vocal.

Just Pure magic ...

They remind me too much of you got most votes and it´s really the song in here that Elvis performs best. Again a good choice in my opinion.

One Broken Heart is very Elvis. It has his mannerisms and personality all over it. Yes they shoud have left in that one verse but it's still catchy as hell. Sadly the mix done of the long One Broken Heart for Colectors Gold lacks the balls of the original.
