This is my favorite picture of me. From Tunica Mississippi - just a few miles down from Graceland.
Hey, that looks a bit like Red West (not Fred, Red)
My Dad has repaired the boots of Phil & Gary Nevile, Fernando Torez and other football players and made something for Phil Nevile's daughter who is poorly and she needs something to walk in (what's the name now).
Seee!! I knew I wasn't the only one who loved the smell of a freshly made booklet
I saw Elvis live in concert the year before he died. Even then, he was bigger than life, and had amazing charisma. Haven't seen anything like it since, ....until Adam.........Nocturnal 2010 No matter how old you are, no matter who you sleep with, no matter what color your skin is, we can all party together.” - Adam Lambert 2010

First impressions are excellent. Sound is very good for audience, and peformances and mood are terrific.
I think this is an important release, as it shows Elvis in a great mood and giving a really entertaining show. Just a couple of days later his father is taken ill and hospitalised, and the engagement nose dives for 5 days, but here at the outset we find an Elvis who is "up for entertaining", and still knocking 'em dead!!
The booklet is pretty nice, but they have over done the old "brush mark" thing a bit IMO. It's ok for the front and back of the booklet, but not necessary or particularly pleasing on the inside.

This is an astoundingly good-sounding audience recording. Put on headphones, and you are there.
Elvis is indeed in fairly good spirits and voice for the period, and his banter with Glen Campbell is great. It is kind of amazing the engagement would turn awful in just a few day's time.
Another must-own from the folks at Straight Arrow.

It was a season of ups and downs, John...not the whole season after this OS was bad...I remember the DS from the 11th being a good one and the MS the same day being even better....just to mention 2...
Thanks to Ernst Joergensen, Roger Semon and Erik Rasmussen for the great work. Keep the spirit alive !
It's very hard to look at Dec '76 through a prism of a few "good" shows. Elvis didn't want to be there, he was in pretty bad shape physically and emotionally, and he apparently even had a near-death experience in his suite. It was not a good time for him.
That said, this new SA release is as excellent a document of this stand as one might hope for.

This is a sensational package!
A perfect show,
a perfect band,
a perfect Elvis behaving like he's sitting in his own living room in very good mood and spirits
a perfect audience recording with all the atmosphere that's needed for good show!

This is very positive news and makes me look forward to getting this release myself even more!....also looking forward very much to straight arrows next release which {i guess} maybe they will announce in May??

His enthusiasm over Ginger was quickly overtaken by his hatred of Las Vegas and the Hiltons. Let's not forget that he knew his services were paying his manager's gambling debts.
"Don't tell me to play it. I will when I get ready. Do you understand me?"
Just got my copy......excellent sound for a AR and great packaging....thanks Straight Arrow! As mentioned previously its Vegas '76 which is not going to give you Elvis at his peak but its a good show and i think he always put in more effort when he knew celebs who meant anything to him were in the audience.
got mine a few days back - it is a great release & i agree with RED that its an IMPORTANT release for historical reasons!
id hardly call it a perfect show , however like the sound it is very good for the time !
the booklet is great !
the sound is very very good however i wouldnt call it excellent , tad more treble wouldnt hurt i think!
its certainly not on par 'with april fools' which IS amazingly EXCELLENT !!!
JCHB is the obvious highlight for me & actually amazingly good for an unrehearsed 1 off that hadnt performed
for 6 yrs to my knowledge - though doesnt he say after that "we havnt done that for at least a yr"
(or something to that effect) ???????? was HIS memory and/or state of mind really thinking that way ?????
its a good release and certainly worthwhile !

i thought someone would come back with regards to 'cant help believing'
cisco ???
was it performed between 70 & 76 ???????

There was an excerpt performed on 12th August 1973 MS & was performed completely on two occasions in 1971 (25th & 28th August MS) but we have no recordings of them shows, only [in-depth] reviews of both shows.
cheers Ben - i thought youd probably know, ya little trainspotter
interesting it was performed in 71 - now u mention it, it rings a bell
12th August 1973 MS - how much of an excerpt ? one liner or a complete verse etc ????
i always thought it was a song he pretty much did for the filming of TTWII and then discarded
though god knows why - the original master is actually one of the songs i grew up with and therefore is 1 of my favs period ! id probably put it in my top 10 !!!
either way, i find it curious that 'E' states " we havnt done that for at least a yr " !!!!!!

Hey, less of that cheeky bugger
This is what happens on the 12th Aug MS:
Someone requests Old Shep and he says “Old Shep? I was eight years old when I did that” and then someone must request Believin’ and he sings the line “I just can’t help Believin’ and then someone wants to hear What Now My Love so he sings that.
I got my copy yesterday, and I really must say that I don't like the cover. Even though Elvis did not look too well, there are a lot nicer pictures of Elvis around and a lot of them are even in the booklet!
The sound is pretty good for an audience recording, but I expected more after all the fuss that was made around it. The Richfield recording sounded better to my ears. But still it's a good recording and I can certainly listen to it without my ears falling off.
The show itself is quite good. Elvis is in good voice and in a good mood. He interacts a lot with the audience and the performance of I JUST CANT HELP BELIEVIN' is a real gem. The only letdown is, that Elvis hadn't added anything new to his show. But what the fans got was an evening with a legend, and this was certainly not a bad one.
