Rijff 'n' Roy Present "Elvis Echoes Of The Past" part-2 :
This time the files weren't quite as large and it was easier to host them off site and then link them here with thumbnails. This way I get to include everything in fewer posts more manageable posts and save some bandwidth. Click on them to see the image fullsize.
Note also that neither Scotty Moore nor myself are in posession of any of these items and as Ger has mentioned, make no claim or endorsement as to the authenticity of any autographs presented here
"DO YOU DIG EL'S SHIRT?"
, , ,
Late 1959 or early 1960 UK based 'teen' magazine Mirabelle ran a contest to win a shirt just like the one Elvis was wearing in Germany ( see magazine page)
Some 30 plus years later the contest winner was traced by collectors. The lady still had the original shirt ( signed! ) 'somewhere upstairs' in a box.... She was very much willing to sell the shirt to the European collectors. In my humble opinion this is actually Elvis personal shirt... and not one "just like it".
Anybody out there who can post more pix of Elvis wearing the shirt, while in Germany?

FYI, that awful "colourized" image -- eylscan0004jts8.jpg -- is not contemporaneous.
It was done in the last few years.

Gentle caveat: The amount of German forgeries being posted are continuing to grow on these "Echoes Of The Past" threads.

I think it should made crystal clear that some of these items are pure fantasy.

No, nothing of the sort. I implied in my first post that I have no knowledge as the authenticity of any of the items, in this thread or the other. I'd likely be duped like the next guy but the autographs really hold no interest for me. I think Ger encouraged the discussion of both yours and UF's observations, knowledge or opinions in the other thread which I'm sure applies to this one too. As yet though you're calling for specifics and offering none.N880EP wrote:What's the matter? Don't you believe me?JamesVRoy wrote:Isn't that your forte? Point em out.

thread? Keep m coming, the 2nd batch of
goodies will be up this afternoon, hopefully.

I love the army-stuff. Thanks for posting all those pictures.
I wonder...was it "normal" in those days to lie down while giving blood? I know I have to ask for it every time I have to give blood. Normally one sits in a chair. Except the ones that think/know they will faint. Did Elvis ask for it too? Or did they give him a special treatment so he wouldn't have to be embarrassed when passing out in front of those cameras.

That's odd Monique, over here we always are made to lie down while giving blood. In the years I've been doing it I've never seen it done otherwise.Monique wrote:I love the army-stuff. Thanks for posting all those pictures.

My boy my boy....what a great photos and other items.
I wish i could contribute some things...there's only one problem. I don't have that much.
I'm a collector from Elvis in the fifties (specially between 1958-1960)
I have a RCA promotion card with autograph both sides...and many many photos. But most of them are already published before.
I'll make a scan from the RCA card tomorrow. I really want to know if it's fake or not...i hope it's not. But i heard other things from collectors.
Tallhair! many thanks for all the great books you did in the early 80's and 90's they're just fantastic. Here's your feather (joke)
A question for JamesVRoy. Are all these items from your own collection? i really like that signed thing from one of the nurses.
