Re: Rijff 'n' Roy Present "Elvis Echoes Of The Past" - Part 2
It's definitely from his October 1957 vacation in Las Vegas. You can see he's at the Sahara -- a Tom Parker haunt -- by looking at the table items. There are many photos from this evening -- and that suit -- to be found in the picture section.
The couple may be enjoying a performance by singing-dancing team Marge and Gower Champion. They had a weekly show on NBC-TV that year. Photos were taken of Elvis with them from this night.

Re: Rijff 'n' Roy Present "Elvis Echoes Of The Past" - Part 2
Couldn't they glue the pieces together? The story is, Elvis recorded "Nobody's Child" ( a real tear-jerker) for the Diskins as a special gift sometime in the 60s.
How does a one-of-a-kind Elvis Presley acetate get transported from one place to another, and become broken in the process?!!????
GRRRRR!!!!!!

Always Elvis on my mind
Re: Rijff 'n' Roy Present "Elvis Echoes Of The Past" - Part 2
yep, twice indeed on the front and a 3rd time,
on the back ( signatures from Elvis and others!)
On the front bottom of photo he signed "The Kat",
sadly though not visible on the scan here!
Long time ago I bought the 'Jeanette Colletion'
in Memphis from a reliable source . The guy had
bought the items plus a dozen ( or more?)
candids of EP while performing in Shreveport
and surounding towns from Jeanette's children,
who had put an ad in the local newspaper
after she had passed away... putting the Elvis
items up for sale.
One of the candids pictured Jeanette sitting
on Elvis lap, backstage at the Hayride, circa
november 1954... This candid ended up on
the cover of the "Stand By Me" ( vol.2 ?)
bootleg cd.... Can't find my copy of the cd...
Anybody who can post that cd cover here?!
During 'hard times' at the Rijff house, I had
to sell just about all of my Elvis Collection,
including the ones from Jeanette...
The photos found 2 new homes. The signed
publicity photos went to Dutch collector and
owner of the Elvis Museum Joke van Gent :
elvispresleymuseum@planet.nl
http://www.elvispresleymuseum.nl
Its situated in Molkwerum, Friesland.
Super lady with a k k k- kool 50s
Elvis collection incl some personal Elvis
belongings. Worth the trip for sure.
Joke can't stop talking 'young' Elvis...
Beware!
The candids from Jeanette went to one
Ernst Jorgensen. Nice bloke.

Peter Guralnick found her a great source for the first volume of his biography.

Any info on that Sun tape? That's interesting.
Re: Rijff 'n' Roy Present "Elvis Echoes Of The Past" - Part 2
Could that Sun tape be one of the sources for the famous Good Rockin' Tonight bootleg of Sun outtakes? I just say that because it lists Blue Moon Of Kentucky, and it credits Elvis with "beating on guitar", which brings to mind I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine, another we have outtakes of.

No. It's actually the opposite.Booker T wrote:Could that Sun tape be one of the sources for the famous Good Rockin' Tonight bootleg of Sun outtakes? RCA in August 1984 -- look at the desktop calendar -- did not have the tape used for Bopcat 100. The woman is noting an RCA dub of that bootleg, in preparation for the Christmas release of the Elvis: A Golden Celebration box set.
The tracks we see noted on the sheet:
1) I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine
2) Blue Moon Of Kentucky (Without Slapback)
3) Just Because (Before Slowdown)
The first two made the set, and the third song may be a misnomer. The person who wrote that sheet seems a bit untutored ("Elvis Presley Outakes: 1954-1956 Erra"), and the correct title of #3 is probably:
3) I'll Never Let You Go (Little Darlin') (Before Slowdown)
All of the above made the set that December.

The tape was photographed in Memphis...
Never made it to New York...
More on the night Debbie gave us a tour thru
the locked Madison offices and showed us the
