I would bring all my collection and leave my wife.

Kidding aside, I'll leave for others to point what you should take it or leave.

Transfer all your tracks / books etc to an external hard disc (with backup copy for safety).
Prevent doubles and / or different mixes.
Then you’ve your collection minimized for your new home.

I did that of course, but I still want to keep a few things physically with me.
Thus the list.
And it is not easy: I just thought about "Writing for the King" but I don't know now what to take out.

Reading this thread makes me happy I still have my 2 bedroom bachelor pad, I would never downsize just to please someone else.

Best of luck with the move and if you have a copy of The Final Curtain or some other rarity I'd be happy to take it off your hands ;)

When my wife was alive and well and we were living like a regular family of 6, she never, ever gave me a choice or ultimatum about what and what I shouldn't have or keep. Not once !!!

Now that she's gone and my kids are growing up, that's certainly not going to start now. 🙂

A Life In Music would be a cert for me.

I've shown my wife this thread and told her there's no way I'd ever agree to this.

She's sent me to bed with no dinner.

I wouldn't be marrying a woman who wouldn't let me have all of my Elvis collection. If she can't handle my Elvis collection, she's not the woman for me.

Every single ítem from the list has some sentimental value. From the tape i got in 1986 to "From Elvis in Nashville" bought 35 years later.

Thanks! But I am not losing or selling anything. I'm only leaving 90% of my collection in my former home (safely stored) and taking with me the stuff i can't live without.

The best years of my life, with the Hillbilly Cat as the perfect musical background.

I have read Last Train To Memphis twice and Careless Love once. On the other hand I must have read 15 times Mystery Train by Marcus. Both Elvis'56 and Inside KC are always with me.
Now Elvis by J.Hopkins is a pretty good option thinking about it!

I would not agree. My Elvis collection comes with me as do my exasperating laziness (when it comes to housework), my chaotic nature and my impulsive temperament. All of that and Elvis comes with the man. After 2 decades together my wife has given up the fight. She knows and learned to live with it. All the best to the both of you!
