Best track on "Double trouble" LP 1967
First of all I will explain the looong pause. I will get a new job, build a new house and a few days away on vacation with my family. Thanks to you guys who missed the polls. Made me glad!
I have mixed feelings about this record. Some days it´s okay. The sound isn´t much to write about. Old MacDonald is awful and Elvis almost sounds angry on it (not surprising). Shanebrown is worrying thar "City by night" will be the other track, but you can relax. When tracks like "I love only one girl" is on an album, the rest can feel safe....It can possibly work on the october party in München, but the bass line played with saxophones or whatever it is are horrible. But the rest is better. The title track is catchy and Baby, if you....is quite raunchy at times. The movie ballads are ok. "Long legged girl" has probably one of the hardest, dirtiest intros of any of Elvis songs. Too bad that the rest of the song doesn´t live up to it...and it´s way to short. I know that lots of people can´t stand "It won´t be long" that was cut from the movie, but I have no problems with it. It rocks along nicely. RCA was close to the bottom of the 1963 bonus songs, and it starts show here. "Never ending" was already released as a single, and "Blue river" sounds unfinished. So I will give my vote to the last song on the album. Elvis makes a delicate reading of "What now, what next, where to".
Vote on!

If we were voting on the FTD version of this album I'd go for the unedited, undubbed version of "Could I Fall In Love." But since it's the original album I'll go wih "Long Legged Girl." "City By Night" woyld be a close second.
BTW: I really enjoy the FTD version of this album. I do wish though that they would have taken some time for sound improvment on the 9 movie tracks.
