Who is Sheila Ryan Caan?

#400780

Post by Vissie »

Sonic Past Music is assisting Sheila Ryan Caan with her upcoming book Fame On Me - a tell-all book on Elvis Presley by one of his most famous former girlfriends. Sheila was Elvis’ girlfriend after Linda Thompson, was the Oct.’73 Playboy cover girl, and married James Caan in 1976 (whom she divorced in 1977.)

This is probably the most revealing book ever written about Elvis, as Sheila has said “…many people have written books on Elvis, but I was there for the pillow talk.” Coming soon!
Anyone know what this is all about?

Sheila Caan is an interesting character, and a no-holds-barred type of person. I wouldn't doubt that she'll let it all hang out, and she can be pretty abrasive. Her book will make for an interesting read, but some things will likely be heavily exaggerated.

Just some things?

Anyway, she can write what she wants. There is no way we can control if what she writes is really what Elvis said, did or thought as Elvis is no longer with us.

I saw Elvis live in concert the year before he died. Even then, he was bigger than life, and had amazing charisma. Haven't seen anything like it since, ....until Adam.........Nocturnal 2010

It hasn't been printed yet LD ~

The Book: Sheila Ryan Caan has finished the first complete draft of her book on her life with Elvis Presley, titled Fame On Me, and it is beautiful. We are now beginning the process of sorting out her publishing deal and getting the book released. We have also had several meetings relating to a movie for television, if not a major film release.

This part gets me...

Sounds salacious.

My feathers are somewhat ruffled. He's not here to refute any of this private pillow talk Image

I guess I'm wondering what motivates someone to write a book after the topic of the book has been gone 30 years?

Elvis medication bottle for sale: Sheila Ryan, former girlfriend of Elvis Presley and wife of James Caan is selling a prescription bottle of medication on the auction site, ebay. The bottle of DAPRISAL was prescribed by Dr George Nichopoulos and dated May 17th 1975. The bottle of pills was given to Sheila by Elvis in Graceland to hold for him.

Oh yeah, she sounds lovely.

Well, let's not be too harsh on the girl.

If she had a bottle worth a few bob, why not sell it ?

It's not as if it reveals Elvis' drug problem or anything, is it ?

That fact is common knowledge.............

It's so easy to judge behind our boring PC's.

"I guess I'm wondering what motivates someone to write a book after the topic of the book has been gone 30 years?"

Welcome to planet earth... geezzz..

No offend to anyone, but if any of us was related to Elvis in any way, we would keep our mouth shut forever right?

NOT!

Elvis kind of impressed many people for the rest of their lives.

I welcome her story.
Sheila is ok;)

There are a few people who should be banned forever though..
Like Dee and few others, here's an appropriate emoticon for them:

Robert, I'm not sitting behind a boring pc.. judging. I am entitled to my opinion and I'm voicing it. Your sarcasm is noted.

If you like Sheila, so be it. So far, from what I've read about her she has left me quite unimpressed. Hence, my appropriate emoticon Image

And, just as an aside, I disagree with this statement:

No offend to anyone, but if any of us was related to Elvis in any way, we would keep our mouth shut forever right? NOT!

Not everyone sells out.

Ryan was with Elvis at a critical juncture in his life, and it is significant that she left on her own terms.

She was too young to have to deal with Presley's depression and health issues, and it's certainly something she regrets to this day.

Let's hope whatever is written is done with honesty and class -- and that it provides something NEW to the canon. Her interviews for Guralnick's "Careless Love" were noteworthy, a good sign.

I agree that she was too young to have to deal with his chosen lifestyle. He was 39, she was 21.

I suspect this book will provide an unwelcome amount of detail about their bedroom activity and Elvis' somewhat eccentric behaviour at the time. She just doesn't strike me as the sort of person that will hold back in the name of good taste. I hope I'm wrong.

Even if he was, I doubt ELvis would have made any effort to comment on it. After 1960 or so, he didn't refer too much to stuff written about him.
