Again, a wonderful magazine...how i wish to go back in time to find all these magazines in the paper stands - reading today a magazine like this is like i'm there, in the middle of Presley controversy.

Again, a wonderful magazine...how i wish to go back in time to find all these magazines in the paper stands - reading today a magazine like this is like i'm there, in the middle of Presley controversy.

This is just like I feel. My favourite Elvis period is 1968-72. I adore Elvis´ voice of the 1960-63 recordings. He sang like an angel. The 50´s have always been somewhat distant to me. I mean, I understand that was the time Elvis shook the world. I know how important and influential those recordings were. But I was not there. I was born in 1965. I have to rely on other persons telling how great Elvis was back then. And these 50s magazines are a great way to experience part of that. It really was a different world back then.

Fun stuff! The piece is just something for the girls, but the photos are a treat.

First of all, who doesn't love seeing baby Princess Leia (AKA Carrie Fisher), born October 21, 1956, on the cover with mom Debbie?

And, even more exquisite, we have a previously-unknown live shot of Elvis, performing in Houston at the Sam Houston Coliseum on October 13, 1956!
