Have been tweaking various configuration files. And when that is done, it restarts various services - which would cause the behavior you describe.

Just noticed the part where you said it signed you in as another member.. That should NOT be happening. Investigating now.

Thanks mate. My last two visits from typing in the address from Chrome's new tab page have had me signed in as "skabillyrebels" and "claude 91". Refreshing puts everything back to normal, but yeah.

Hi....I came to log ino my account at 6.19pm and found someone already logged in with the name Rachelwijnmeub..i checked there account and they joined back in 2013 and have not made any posts....confused?

This seems to be a common problem here! I logged in today to see that apparently I'd posted on this thread, and I thought, "Hmm, I don't remember ever even CLICKING on this thread..."

My apologies to @stevelecher and @Eggrert
It appears that the nginx cache proxy that was put into place to speed up the site had also kept user "sessions" in the cache as well. This is not supposed to happen, and I have taken further steps to prevent it from happening again.
If this behavior is still being experienced - please reply back into this topic.

Back to the weird slow load times. 14:44 I posted a reply here

and when I tried to send it, it whirred and whirred for about a minute. The funny thing is, when I loaded up the forum page on a new tab (which also took a few seconds) it showed that my post had been made, even though my reply was still waiting to go.

It seems the lag this time is server-wide, rather than forum specific. I am in the process of mitigating the suspicious traffic that is causing these issues,as we speak. Such suspicious traffic has been on-going since shortly before 1300 @The Pirate time.

Ive had the same happening where i was suddebly logged in as elvisfan77 or something like that. When i refreshed i was back to being me

My apologies to @ale.
It appears that our little experiment with the nginx proxy, to speed up the site ---- was a complete failure.
I have now disabled all traces of nginx - and such accidental session sharing, as has been experienced by @ale and others will no longer happen. I tried other methods to remedy such a fault, but those have now been shown to be ineffective. The only way to prevent it from occurring again, is to remove the plugin - which has now been done. Again, my apologies. And thank you to @Johnny2523 for bringing this latest incident to my attention.
