The Reycard Duet was a Filipino singing comic duo consisting of Carding Castro (also known as Carding Cruz) and Rey Ramirez. As a duo, Cruz and Ramirez had been entertaining audiences for over 40 years; Ramirez was known as the dashing singer while Cruz provided the comedy in every performance. The duet performed from 1954 to 1997, when Ramirez died. They were also known as ReyCards Duet or The Reycards.


According to Filipino actor Eddie Gutierrez (who met Elvis at the Flamingo Hotel in 1963) Elvis already met the ReyCards when Eddie and Elvis met. So on this photo we see another meeting of the Filipino stars with Elvis.

What I have on the Reycards adds a bit more to the story. They were pretty under the radar in America, they played a lot in Hawaii. There are no known U.S. records or TV appearances. They didn't play Vegas as much as claimed, at least not in the Elvis era.

The first photo you posted likely dates to mid-May 1969, when Elvis and his family were vacationing in Hawaii. There are not too many other possibilities, given their timeline and his career and personal affairs.

The second one shows the act when they were probably teen-agers, in the mid-fifties.

The third, with (L-R) Filipino actors Eddie Gutierrez, Susan Roces and Rosemary Sonora, is from mid-July 1963 at the Hotel Sahara, where Elvis was staying while shooting "Viva Las Vegas" on location in Las Vegas.

They were in town filming for the market back home a romantic comedy called "Eddie Loves Susie" (VP Pictures). It came out in the Philippines six months later. Susan, 21, and Rosemary, 15, were indeed siblings. Very pretty ladies.
