Again, the Orlando recording is inferior to the rest of the recordings on the set, so leaving it off the set was the right decision.
I am listening to my "Having fun in Orlando" bootleg as I type and I have heard worse quality soundboards from FTD. The sound is perfectly fine for an FTD release if not stellar.

The quality is far from good. It's similar to ''From Georgia To Florida'', where not everything is audible. Remember, there's a possibility that FTD doesn't own Orlando. And no, FTD does not copy a bootleg, as far as I know.
Didn't they copy Boston 1971 or something? I thought I read something on here like that.

Seems they’re stepping on the gas. Which is the best option, as we’re not getting any younger. Would love a similar volume covering March 1976.

Let's hope they do the same with the Session's Series. They can always attach a hype sticker to say "some tapes are lost" and do combo's etc.

That wouldn't hype me up

But I'm all for combined sessions if there isn't enough material!

Since the johnson city soundboards are incomplete i could see

DISC 1 - MARCH 17 & 18
DISC 2 - MARCH 19
DISC 3 - MARCH 20
DISC 4 - MARCH 21

And lets just forget about the 22nd.

I'm currently thinking that this set might be a hard pass for me... I'm going to have to double-check, but I feel like I already have about 95% of the material on this set already. It seems that the majority was included in the "Final Curtain" set as well as FTD's own "Unchained Melody" set. Has anyone had the time to check and see what's appearing for the first time on this set ? Sorry, if the answer is already in this thread, but I've been busy lately with a building project. In fact, so much so that I haven't even finished listening to the "Guitar Man" sessions which I've been waiting for since the series began.

Outside of release me and trying to get to you the rest of February 18th show is new, the february 19th show in Johnson City is entirely new, the rest has been released on bootleg and the 20th obviously on unchained melody

So you have no idea why Orlando Feb 15th was not included?

Going by the "Having fun in Orlando" bootleg and the "And now the end is near" box set, there is not much difference.

I will be happy to get this set but still particularily sad it will miss 2 good shows performed on 15th + 17th and easily the show on 17th is one of my all time favourites.

Same here, the 17th is a good show start to finish. Elvis was ready to give the crowd a show that night!

I'm a little disappointed they don't have the 12th in their vaults Despite Elvis' appearance, he sang pretty well, I thought!

Elvis couldn't do the high notes during 'unchained melody' that night.

The Orlando soundboard tape has technical problems with Elvis' voice buried under layers of sound. In its unaltered state, the recording is very reminiscent of an instrumental, in large parts anyway. Samples of what I'm talking about are out there on various bootlegs. The producers of the TFC box-set (to everyone's amazement) managed to fix much of this, but FTD apparently don't want to go down that route or simply re-use the bootlegger's efforts. A Savannah soundboard recording exists but has similar problems.

In any case, a second volume and perhaps a third. Probably the last thing FTD will release of 1977, thus closing that year for good. Then you would think that given the title, ''The Last Tours'', that the month of June would be included. And especially EIC.

I am getting the new Bob Dylan box next week, 27 cds, for $90.

FTD has gotten too expensive.
